The following are a list of crime prevention programs offered by the Crime Prevention Unit:

Apartment Community Watch: This program shows individuals how to band together to fight
crime through their EYES and EARS. Included in the presentation is how to secure your vehicle.

Bike Registration: Register your bikes with your CT Drivers license number to help locate and
recover the bike should it ever be stolen.

Car Theft: Tips on how to secure your vehicle and register with the Combat Auto Theft (C.A.T.)
Program.

Home or Business Security Survey: A written survey which takes the officer approximately 30
minutes to complete, showing you the vulnerable areas around your home or business.

Operation Identification: The electric engraver can be checked out at the West Haven Police
Crime Prevention Office.

Self-Protection Tips for Women: This is an 1 1/2 hour awareness course which includes a 20
minute video.

Senior Citizens Crime Prevention: A 30 minute presentation on crime prevention measures for
the senior citizens.
